Texas Coalition for Animal Protection (TCAP), at non-profit 501c3, is looking for Clinic Assistants to join our team for the summer. TCAP was established to end animal overpopulation and improve community animal welfare by providing low-cost preventative services throughout North Texas. 

Supports TCAP’s clinic operations by maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and organized environment for animals, clients, and staff. This position is responsible for cleaning and disinfecting kennels and clinical areas, assisting with laundry and facility upkeep, and supporting the veterinary team as needed. Duties include:

  1. Cleans, disinfects, and prepares cages, treatment areas, and other animal-care spaces in accordance with established sanitation procedures.
  2. Monitors animals while performing assigned duties and promptly report signs of distress, illness, injury, unusual behavior, or other concerns to the appropriate veterinary team member.
  3. Cleans and disinfects floors, walls, counters, equipment, exam areas, and other assigned clinic spaces.
  4. Performs laundry duties, including washing, drying, and folding.
  5. Empties trash and biohazard receptacles as directed and follow proper procedures for waste handling and disposal.
  6. Restocks clinic supplies and notify management when supplies are low.
  7. Assists clinic staff with basic operational tasks during busy periods, as assigned and within the employee’s training and skill level.
  8. Maintains a professional, respectful, and team-oriented approach when interacting with coworkers, clients, volunteers, and members of the public.
  9. Follows TCAP policies, procedures, attendance expectations, and standards of conduct.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned to support efficient clinic operations.

Requirements

  • Prior animal care, kennel, shelter, veterinary, boarding, or related experience preferred but not required.
  • Comfortable working with dogs and cats of different sizes, breeds, temperaments, and medical conditions.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established cleaning and animal-handling procedures.
  • Ability to recognize and report potential animal safety or health concerns.
  • Strong attention to cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume veterinary environment.
  • Dependable attendance, punctuality, and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate respectfully and effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Ability to safely use cleaning products, disinfectants, laundry equipment, and basic facility-maintenance tools.

$13+ per hour.  Benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance.  401k.

Must be able to work full day shifts - 7:30 am- 4:15 pm
